PLAYER SUSPENSION LIST

League Philosophy: RELAX! it's just a game.
The OBHL is commited to running a league that is safe, fun, competitive and fair. Players that behave unacceptably will be suspended from play. Players that cross the line and make the league unsafe for others will be permenantley suspended or suspended for a great length of time. Also any players that are not here for a good time and are being continuously disruptive or disrespectful to the league and staff will be suspended and/or banned. Below are the minimum suspension guidlines. All suspensions carry over to a players next season of play.
Minimum Suspensions:
-3 minor penalties in a game -- game ejection
-3 game ejections in a season -- suspended for rest or season or minimum of 5 games
-Verbal abuse of an official or staff -- 1 game minimum + $20 player fine
-Attempt to injure -- 3 games minimum
-Excessive Roughing -- 1 game minimum
-Fighting -- 5 games minimum, 2nd Fight -- Banned
-Checking from behind -- 2 game minimum
-Major Penalties -- 1 game minimum
-Littering -- indefinate
-Vandalism -- indefinate
-Head Shots -- 2 games minimum
-Physical abuse of an official or staff -- Banned
-Breaking floor tile out of frustration --
Unsportsmanlike minor penalty + $15 player fine
League Guidlines:
- Feedback policy: Players must report any issues to their team rep then their team rep will contact the league in writing by filling out a feedback forms that are in the office or the team rep can send their concerns in email format to info@outdoorballhockey.com
- Teams must wait for other teams to clear the rink before entering the rink, especially after a youth game.
- Ejected players must go directly to suspension zone, or leave the facility all together. Suspension zone is directly on other outside of team’s player’s bench(other side of plywood). Discretion of referee for severity of incident is to be used.
- Each team must provide 3 clean league approved balls before each game to be used during the game.
- No smoking within 10 meters of rink. Please refrain from smoking near the rink because smoking kills athletes.
- The OBHL is part of the Fifty Point Conservation Area. The OBHL has the right to eject anyone in the area who is irate or is breaking the rules of the park.
OBHL House Rules:
- NEW! Offensive players who dig into the goalie after a whistle will result in moving the faceoff to the outside of zone, and loss of zone occurs. Or if goalie
has the ball clearly covered and players take unsportsmanlike attempts towards the ball will also result in moving the faceoff to the outside of zone, and loss of zone occurs.
- NEW! Ball shot directly out of rink at fence height (12’) from the defensive blue line inward is a delay of game penalty
- NEW! Teams who leave excessive litter on the player benches will be receive a bench minor penalty for the start of their next game.
• Stick infractions are 2 minute minor penalties.
- No sliding. Sliding will result in a minor penalty.
- High sticking the ball with or without contact is a penalty
Player and Team Fines:
- Verbal abuse of OBHL staff is prohibited. Players who verbally abuse OBHL staff will be fined a minimum of $20.00 player fine.
Also: Screaming F bombs is completely inappropriate behavior for adult men’s recreational ball hockey at Fifty Point. Screaming F bombs is the first step towards verbal abuse towards staff. Stop yelling out F bombs.
- Littering is strictly prohibited and it is illegal in the Conservation Area. Teams who leave litter on the player benches will be receive a bench minor penalty for the start of their next game. Teams need to report any litter found on the benches to OBHL staff immediately. Please put all trash in the cans provided. Any teams found littering in the parking lot are subject to a $20.00 team fine.
