Rookie Program Format:
The Rookie Program is for boys and girls ages 3-5 yrs old.
The program is designed to teach grass roots skills of the game of hockey to kids while maintaining a fun environment. Our coaches begin each session teaching the fundamental basic skills of the game and end with a mini fun game each session. Moms and Dads are welcomed to bring their stick and get on the rink and get involved. If a player is advance they can move up to the youth league to play in regular league games if there is room on the teams.
Registration:
Register online or at the park for the Spring Rookie Program. The program will start the week following March Break. Registration fees are $70.80 + HST = $80 Total! That's only $8 dollars per session! Online Rookie Program

Family Discount:
The OBHL provides a discount for families with multiple siblings. First player no discount but every player thereafter in the family will receive
$10 off their registration fee for the Rookie Program. Valid ID may be required.

Spring Season Scheduling:
The spring season starts after March break and run to the end of May to possibly the first week of June, depending on the number of registrations, due to the limited amount of rink time available and weather cancellations. Sessions will take place once a week (dates to be confirmed). During the week the earliest session start time is 5pm, weekend sessions are usually early day on Saturday depending on other local events.
Match with 1 Friend:
Due to the numbers of signup's, it’s possible that we will run multiple Rookie sessions. The OBHL will match each player with their friend! Fill out your match on your registration form. The players select one and other on their registration forms to create a match.
Mandatory Equipment:
Helmet with full facial protection, protective gloves, stick, shin pads (ice hockey, ball hockey or soccer style), jock or jill strap, and elbow pads.
