Who we are:
The Outdoor Ball Hockey League is an affiliated member of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association. Together we are striving to promote the sport of ball hockey and strengthen the sport of hockey overall by creating a positive, safe and fun environment.
Our Goal:
To provide a safe environment that promotes respect, teamwork, fair play. Children, teens and adults of all ages and skill levels can play fun organized outdoor ball hockey all year round. Our goal is to help grow the sport of hockey in all players who have a small interest in the game to those who have a strong passion and can't get enough.
The Outdoor Rink:
Currently the OBHL has one facility, located within Fifty Point Conservation Area, Hamilton, Ontario.
The games are played on a custom 160’ x 80’ outdoor ball hockey facility.
The rink is constructed with polypropylene containment boards standing 4’ high. The floor is covered with a specialized outdoor shock absorbing, modular sports tile for great playability.
Around the ends of the rink, containment fencing is used to keep the ball in play.
Player benches 70 feet long, with penalty boxes, and a time keeper bench are along one side of the rink.
There is also an administration/pro shop office where players can register and purchase packaged snacks and drinks. Also we have great prices on jerseys, sticks and a full line of ball hockey equipment.
Our League Members:
Our members are anyone who has an interest for the game, and everyone who loves the game. This is where it all starts. The members of the Outdoor Ball Hockey League are anyone who can run or jog. If you are one of our rookies just starting out, or and average player up to elite looking to tune your skills this is for you, or maybe you are a vetern loooking for a fun way to get exercise this is for you with no experienced required. All of our divisions and teams are organized by age and skill level to make the games safe, fair, and enjoyable for all.
At the end of every game we want every single player to have a positive and fun ball hockey experience.
